CBC Video Journalist with more than 10 years of experience in broadcasting.

I work for one of CBC’s highest-rated local evening newscasts, Here & Now, in Newfoundland & Labrador. Working independently in Central Labrador, means being the entire television department here. I pitch and feed stories to the newsroom in St. John’s, including frequently performing live into the show. I file on all platforms, including for The World Report, CBC News Network and The National.

Not only do I do all of the shooting, editing and writing (the do-it-all job of a VJ), but I find the stories. Part of that’s through the awesome help of Labradorians. And via an online, digital-first approach.

Back in Toronto, I filmed multiple seasons of Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors games, hundreds of celebrities at Toronto International Film Festivals, and news stories including the G20 protests and riots in 2010.
I hold an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto in politics, sociology and Spanish; have studied at universities in Hong Kong and Mexico; and am completing a Master of Journalism degree from the University of British Columbia.
Why journalism? The world needs it.  And I’m passionate about what makes this world tick and our hearts pump.
